Discovery's Edge is Mayo Clinic's online research magazine. Our goal is to tell the story of scientists and physician–researchers who are bringing treatments and improved care to patients daily through interdisciplinary studies in all areas of research. We will also report on "works–in–progress," ongoing efforts on the edge of discovery.

From Bedside to Biology and Back Again

We see the needs of the patient every day in our hospitals and exam rooms. We take that need to the laboratory for answers and then translate discoveries into therapies that are immediately applied in our practice. Mayo Clinic takes research from the laboratory to the patient faster and better than anyone else. That's part of our story...

The other part is the researchers themselves, many of them experts in their field, all of them talented professionals who want to find cures and improve lives. We hope to convey their excitement and motivation in these pages.
